3.3.21 самонарезающий винт (tapping screw): Винт, изготовленный из материала с более высоким сопротивлением деформации и вставляемый посредством вращения в отверстие, выполненное в материале с меньшим сопротивлением деформации.
Винт имеет коническую резьбу, т.е. с уменьшением диаметра резьбы на конце винта. Резьба при ввинчивании надежно формуется только после числа оборотов, превышающего число витков резьбы на коническом участке.
